Bill Papenhausen was born and raised in San Diego where he attended elementary school, high school and college. After four years in the military, where he served as a communications specialist with the U.S. Air Force Security Service (an electronic surveillance command), he joined the San Diego Police Department.   
As a police officer, Bill’s initiative, thoroughness and investigative techniques led to the arrests of misdemeanor and felony suspects. His investigative abilities earned him numerous Commanding Officers' Citations and the Supervisor’s Commendation from the force. Bill Papenhausen, retired San Diego Police Detective, is a California licensed private investigator in East County San Diego.
In 1981, following his retirement from the Police Department, Bill formed Bill Papenhausen Investigations. The firm’s client list has grown to include major municipalities and some of California’s largest legal, industrial, commercial and financial firms. These clients are served by a staff of highly qualified investigators and supervisors who assure the highest levels of thoroughness, accuracy and confidentiality.
Bill Papenhausen has been in the Bail Bond services since 2004 and has been serving San Diego as a bail bondsman ever since.
